About the Event
Codependency often looks like care, loyalty, or dedication—but underneath, it can reflect a loss of self. This four-week class is designed to help you identify where codependent patterns may be shaping your relationships, and offer tools to build healthier, more balanced ways of connecting with others—without losing yourself in the process.
Week 1: What Is Codependency? We’ll begin by defining codependency and exploring how it shows up in real life. Through reflection, discussion, and role-playing, participants will start identifying people-pleasing, over-functioning, and emotional over-responsibility as early signs of codependent behavior.
Week 2: Where Does It Come From? This session digs into the roots—how childhood dynamics, unmet emotional needs, and fear of abandonment create patterns that follow us into adulthood. With guided writing and partner questions, we’ll begin connecting present behavior to past experiences and triggers.
